Terms of Service
Last updated: July 30, 2026
Phase 0 hobby-project disclaimer
CloudSniff is currently a Phase 0 validation project run by an individual, not a legal entity. It is provided strictly AS-IS, with no warranty of any kind. The service performs read-only metadata scans only — no destructive operations are performed, and the cleanup feature is hard-disabled in code. If anything here matters to you commercially, this is not yet the product for you.
1. Who runs this service
CloudSniff is operated by an individual founder (Andrei Antipenko), a UAE resident, working in his personal capacity. There is no company, LLC, FZE, or other legal entity behind this service in Phase 0. Where these terms say "I," "me," "the founder," or "the service," that refers to Andrei Antipenko acting as an individual — no corporate voice exists in Phase 0.
If and when an entity is formed (Phase 1), these terms will be replaced entirely with entity-name, lawyer-reviewed Terms of Service. The change will be announced and the effective date updated above.
2. What the service does
CloudSniff connects to your Microsoft 365 account via Microsoft's OAuth consent flow and reads only the metadata that Microsoft Graph exposes about your files: file names, sizes, dates, version counts, and owner IDs. The service does not download, read, or process the contents of your files.
The OAuth scope requested in Phase 0 is Files.Read.All (read-only). No write scope is requested, and no destructive operation is performed against your storage. The cleanup feature shown in some marketing material is hard-disabled in code for Phase 0 and only re-enabled in Phase 1, after an entity is formed, insurance is bound, and Terms of Service have been reviewed by a lawyer.
Scan data is automatically deleted after 90 days by a scheduled cleanup job. You can also delete all of your data on demand from the Settings page.
3. Donations, not purchases
CloudSniff is free to use in Phase 0. There are no paid tiers, no subscriptions, no Stripe checkout. If you choose to support the project via GitHub Sponsors, Ko-fi, or any other channel linked in the footer, you are making a voluntary donation to the founder as an individual. You are not purchasing software, a license, support, or any future deliverable.
Because donations are not purchases:
- There is no service-level agreement (SLA).
- There is no support entitlement.
- There are no refunds — there is nothing to refund, because nothing was sold.
- A donation does not entitle you to influence the roadmap or receive features in any particular timeframe.
4. Acceptable use
By using CloudSniff you agree that you will:
- Only connect Microsoft 365 accounts that you personally own, or that you are authorized to administer. Do not connect a tenant on behalf of someone who has not asked you to.
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer the service, probe it for vulnerabilities beyond good-faith disclosure, or use it to attack Microsoft Graph or any other upstream system.
- Not republish, mirror, or redistribute the service or its reports as if they were your own work. Attribution back to CloudSniff is required for any external sharing.
- Not use the service for anything illegal under UAE law or the law of your own jurisdiction.
The founder may revoke access for any account that materially violates these rules, at their sole discretion.
5. No warranty, no liability
The service is provided AS-IS and AS-AVAILABLE. To the maximum extent allowed by law, the founder disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
The founder, in their individual capacity, is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from your use of the service. If a court refuses to enforce that limitation, the founder's total cumulative liability to you is capped at the total of voluntary donations you have personally sent the founder, or 100 AED, whichever is lower.
The reports CloudSniff produces are advisory. They are calculated from Microsoft Graph metadata and Microsoft's published storage pricing. Microsoft can change either at any time, and the numbers shown should be treated as a starting point for your own analysis, not a guaranteed billing forecast.
6. Termination
Phase 0 is an experimental validation phase. The founder may change, pause, or discontinue the service at any time, for any reason, without notice. If the project is parked or sunsetted, existing scan data will be deleted in line with the 90-day retention window, and any donation channels will be closed.
You may stop using the service at any time. Disconnecting your cloud account via Settings, or deleting your data via Settings, ends the relationship from your side.
7. Governing law and jurisdiction
The founder is a UAE resident operating as an individual. Any dispute arising from your use of CloudSniff in Phase 0 is governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as they apply to natural persons, and will be heard in the courts of the founder's emirate of residence. Because there is no entity, there is no separate legal person to sue — disputes run against the founder as an individual.
If the law of your own country gives you consumer rights that these terms cannot waive, those rights are unaffected.
8. Changes to these terms
CloudSniff is in active validation, and these terms will change as the project evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. When the project moves from Phase 0 (hobby) to Phase 1 (entity-formed), these terms will be replaced in full with a new, lawyer-reviewed agreement; continued use of the service after that point will be subject to those new terms.
9. Contact
Bug reports, security disclosures, and general questions go to support@cloudsniff.space. Use the same address for anything that needs to stay private. Response times are best-effort because this is a side project.
